This is a series about the Video Sequence Editor or VSE in the 3D modeling program, Blender. This is part 1 of the series and deals mostly with the initial basics of Blender and how to start the video editing process. If the following videos contain content that you already know, please continue to part 2.

Tutorial 1 – Importing Video to Blender

Added January 28, 2017 – This step will show you how to import videos into Blender. It is a very basic and necessary step for Blender video editing.


Tutorial 2 – Creating Proxies & Waveforms

Added January 31, 2017 – Depending on the machine you use for editing, creating proxies may be useful. Also, I will show you how to create a waveform on an audio file. Both are extremely helpful for Blender video editing.


Tutorial 3 – Video Cutting & Audio Scrubbing

Added February 14, 2017 – This will get you started on basic video cutting including hard cuts and soft cuts. Also you’ll see how to audio scrub which comes in handy.
