Star Wars Scroll Saw | Luke Skywalker
A Star Wars scroll saw project is something we’ve wanted to do for some time now, but we weren’t really sure what to do. We knew we wanted to do something different. We wanted to do a scene from one of the movies. And we wanted it to be something people would recognize instantly. We thought Luke holding his blaster pistol on Dagobah would be a good one.
How we made it
The entire piece is made out of two 1/8″ thick pieces of MDF. The top layer received the pattern that we made and the bottom layer was painted a flat black. It is incredibly simple to make. We can’t share the pattern with you since we don’t own the rights to it, but we can share with you how we go about making such patterns.
We’ve included two videos. One video shows how we made the actual wall art and the other shows how we make silhouette patterns like we used in the Star Wars scroll saw project. This method can be used for just about any portrait, landscape or other image.
